Ike’s public image is frequently overshadowed by more attention-grabbing colleagues. Cases in point: General Patton, his World War II subordinate; and JFK, his successor as President of the United States of America. But we reveal that there is far more to Ike than the myth of his being an uncharismatic conservative in everything he did. We examine his rise from humble origins in Kansas. His loving family relationships - including a pacifist mother - that led to his concern for the well-being of those he was responsible for.

Much loved by America and elected President for an unprecedented four terms. Renowned for his domestic policy and paternalism in America’s darkest days of the Depression. We now deliver history’s verdict on Roosevelt’s involvement in World War II. Starting in the 1930s, we analyse how Roosevelt offered aid to the Allies and eventually became embroiled in the Second World War despite America's strict neutrality laws. We also examine the darker side of Roosevelt’s character and the controversy surrounding the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbour. Were the Japanese provoked?

He was a US Army general who was also the only ever Field Marshal of the Philippine Army, and this symbolizes MacArthur’s visionary belief that Asia would dominate the future of the world. How did he turn initial disasters in the Pacific War against Japan to a famous comeback that would make him a national hero? How did his occupation of Japan help transform the ancient nation into a modern peaceful rich society? Why did he spare Emperor Hirohito from near-certain trial for war crimes?

Heaven's emperor; man of science; survivor. Brilliant writing, the latest declassified information, witnesses from among the greatest historians, and the hitherto unknown words of the Emperor himself deliver History’s Verdict on Hirohito, the Second World War's most enigmatic leader. Opening with the fateful attack on Pearl Harbor and his role in it, we trace how this great admirer of the Western world had overseen his country's march to war with both the United States of America and the British Empire.

He remains the most famous Allied general of the Second World War thanks to George C Scott’s unforgettable performance in the Oscar winning movie. But our remarkable documentary reveals there was vastly more to Patton than his so-called lust for glory. We provide a concise and comprehensive overview of the great battlefield commander the Wehrmacht’s generals most feared. The son of a rich, distinguished family, the young Patton loved the classics and history, was an Olympic athlete and “master of the sword”.

Ingrid Coles was born in Java, Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia), on November 28, 1942, during the Japanese occupation of WWII. Three months after her birth, she and her family were incarcerated in prisoner-of-war camps. Her father died, aged 43, in a prison camp. Her six-year-old brother died of starvation and pneumonia en route to Holland, when the family was evacuated during the Indonesian War of Independence. Life changed drastically in the Netherlands for Ingrid and her three siblings.

When placed against the odds in fighting a bloody battle on the small South Pacific island of Peleliu and subsequently moving the fight to Okinawa during the last battle of World War II, Judge Braswell Deen Jr. takes the listener back to a time when he and other United States marines showed great courage and love by offering their lives where the rest of the world might have the chance to be free.

On August 6, 1945, 22-year-old Kaleria Pachikoff was doing pre-breakfast chores when a blinding flash lit the sky over Hiroshima, Japan. A moment later, everything went black as the house collapsed on her and her family. Their world, and everyone else's, changed as the first atomic bomb was detonated over a city.

Hundreds of movies and thousands of books have been written about the heroes of World War II. For dozens of years, however, few people knew about one of the greatest heroes of the war - a mild-mannered, eccentric mathematician from the University of Cambridge. This man, an undeniable genius whose later life was plagued by controversy and tragedy, probably played a greater role in the eventual Allied victory than anyone else. Until quite recently his contribution to the war effort was barely recognized. This is his incredible story.

No Demon of Darkness is not a chronicle of violent clashes with the Luftwaffe's bombers over England; it is the tale of a young pilot and the challenges he faced in learning to fly, and in flying heavy fighters such as the Bristol Beaufighter and De Haviland Mosquito. It is also about setbacks and successes. Above all, it is about what it often meant to be an inexperienced operational pilot in wartime.

Finding Don Gordoni is a nonfiction story which takes place before, during, and after World War II. It chronicles the lives of the Gordoni family: Don, his parents, and his two brothers - from birth to death. His mother Lilla owned and operated a successful talent agency in Chicago during the '30s and '40s.

Dreams of My Comrades chronicles the life of Murray Jacobs, a former Navy Seabee, who served in the Pacific Theater and was treated for PTSD until his death at the age of 98. He agreed to a series of interviews, under the strict conditions that his real name could not be used, and the details of the conversations could not be disclosed to anyone until after he was dead.

Infantry men who once ridiculed and scoffed at Desmond’s simple faith and refusal to carry a weapon owed their lives to him. In the midst of a fierce firefight on Okinawa that felled approximately 75 men from the 1st Battalion, Private Doss refused to seek cover and carried his stricken comrades to safety one by one. This and other heroic acts earned him the highest honor America can bestow on one of her sons - the Congressional Medal of Honor.

The Eagle Above: Chronicles of an American Fighter Pilot is the true story of Colonel Stanley E. Corvin, Sr. who, at age 19, went to Canada in mid-1941, enlisting in the RCAF to train as a fighter pilot. In England, he was an RAF flight officer in the 121st Eagle Squadron, made up of Americans. Flying Supermarine Spitfires and Hawker Hurricanes, Corvin flew fighter sweeps and escorted bombers into Germany.

This is the story of Nancy Harkness Love who, early in World War II, recruited and led the first group of 28 women to fly military aircraft for the US Army. Love was hooked on flight at an early age. At 16, after just four hours of instruction, she flew solo “a rather broken down Fleet biplane that my barnstorming instructor imported from parts unknown”. The year was 1930: Record-setting aviator Jacqueline Cochran (and Love’s future rival) had not yet learned to fly, and the most famous woman pilot of all time, Amelia Earhart, had yet to make her acclaimed solo Atlantic flight.

The rulers’ mistakes are paid for with the blood of the people. This is shown in history both recent and ancient, time and time again. It was no different for an Austrian mountain farmer’s son who was thrown into the carnage of the Eastern Front. He was in the prime of his youth, and the German Reich was already close to losing the war. In ripe-old age, he remembers those dark hours that have haunted him throughout his life.
