Long ago, tales of fairies were very much real and respected among many Irish families for fear that they may be cursed. Patrick and Sophie O'Brian were direct descendants of a family that had fallen victim to one such curse. Since they only knew of the tales that were told by their parents and were not directly affected by the superstitions, they did not really believe in any of them. They would often joke about the evil fairies that lived in the forts just miles from where they lived.

Billy was always curious about the lights in the sky, but he didn't think much about them until June 14, 1963. One night, on his dad's farm, he saw the lights behind the barn. Billy, being the curious type, put on his cowboy boots, hat, and Lone Ranger holster, ready to take the outlaws in. Billy was only 10 years old and didn't realize that the lights he saw were something not from this world. The lights behind the barn were about to change Billy's life forever and the lives of everyone around him, including his dog, Trigger.
