Using the most of each day as a good point and shaping the now strange world to become just a little bit more manageable for your loved one is key. The challenges presented by the disease itself, the challenges from your hurt feelings, and the challenges of supporting family members as they deal with their feelings could be viewed as way too much to handle.

The title was chosen as a benefit to everyone. This is a disease which impacts the world and humanity in general. Research will continue from generation to generation until a cure is found and beyond. Everyone living on this planet Earth is affected by this disease. Climate change is a major issue, but we don't know if it has an effect on dementia. Lately, the proliferation of mental illnesses became the number-one silent killer. One's way of life can make a significant difference between being at risk or not. The bottom line is to follow your genetic background.

When my wife Cheryl saw what I was doing, she asked me to chronicle our almost 30-year journey through Alzheimer's. As I began to write and post blogs of the trip, it became apparent that I had a love of writing and an audience for our story. I soon developed a large following, and the blog almost took on a life of its own. The blog has morphed into much more than I ever dreamed. From the comments and feedback I received on many posts, it became apparent that I needed to try and turn this into a book.
