A Silvia è una poesia composta da Giacomo Leopardi, tra il 19 e il 20 aprile del 1828. Quando scrisse la poesia, Leopardi si trovava a Pisa, dopo un lungo silenzio poetico durante il quale si era dedicato a numerose opere in prosa. Riprese dunque a poetare ispirandosi a Teresa Fattorini, la figlia del cocchiere di casa Leopardi a Recanati.

Hugh John Lofting was born in Maidenhead, Berkshire, on January 14th, 1886 to English and Irish parents. Lofting was initially educated at Mount St Mary’s College in Spinkhill, Derbyshire, a Jesuit boarding school, from the age of eight.
