A few months after releasing that chapbook, she found that she had more poems to share from that same period in life that also fit the very same theme. This poetry chapbook by Oklahoma poet, artist, and author, Mikel Maureé Robinson, is just as much an extraordinary collection of her poetic art as the first one, written over the course of several years and a testament to the difficulties of modern life.

I was blessed with two wonderful grandfathers who were both incredibly talented in their own unique ways. One thing they shared was that they were both poets and each had collections of poetry. I began writing poetry when I was about 13 years old, and began dictating stories from the time I was about 3 years old. It’s in my blood. I inherited this gift from my maternal grandfather, Raymond Maddox Seckinger, and my paternal grandfather, Lt. Col. Wallace H. Pedé. On his deathbed, I promised my Granddaddy Seckinger that I would publish his collection of poetry one day.

Old age often defies stereotypes. Life’s later years are a time of slowing down and loss, but they can also be a period of reckoning and, sometimes, new beginnings as Pushcart Prize – nominated poet Sally Rosenthal comes to realize in this exploration of life past the age of seventy. In poetry and prose, she reflects on the past, examines the present, and looks ahead with grace and gratitude. A companion volume to her previous book, Peonies in Winter: A Journey Through Loss, Grief, and Healing, this new work, while an honest appraisal of old age, is also filled with hope, thanks, and even joy.

The Fall of Hyperion is an unfinished visionary epic that was begun in 1819 as a revision of Keats's earlier poem Hyperion. Framed as a dream-vision, it follows a poet-narrator who wanders into a mysterious garden, eats and drinks at a sacred feast, and finds himself transported to a decaying temple. There he meets the veiled goddess Moneta, priestess of fallen memory, who forces him to confront his own worth as a poet before revealing to him—through visions within the dream—the story of the Titans' overthrow by the Olympian gods.

A Deluxe Presentation of Homer's Classic–Dive into the legendary story of Achilles, Hector, and the fall of Troy with a translation that captures the grandeur and intensity of the original epic.
