"Le livre d'Ézéchiel" est un livre de l'Ancien Testament écrit par le prophète Ézéchiel parmi les exilés de Babylonie. Les dates extrêmes donnent entre 593 av. J-C et 571 av. J-C. Le livre contient des reproches et des menaces contre les Israélites avant le siège de Jérusalem, des oracles contre les nations, des consolations pour le peuple déporté, et l'annonce d'un rétablissement religieux et politique en terre d'Israël.

"Le Livre d'Isaïe", ou "Livre d'Ésaïe", est un livre de l'Ancien Testament. Il traite de la déportation du peuple juif à Babylone puis de son retour et de la reconstruction du Temple de Jérusalem sur les ordres du Grand Roi achéménide Cyrus II. Il est le premier des grands prophètes inclus dans les Nevi'im. Le livre se présente sous le nom d'Isaïe, un personnage qui aurait vécu aux alentours du VIIIe siècle av. J.-C. siècle sous les règnes d'Ozias, de Jotham, d'Achaz et d'Ézéchias.

"Le Siracide", appelé aussi "l'Ecclésiastique" ou encore "La Sagesse de Ben Sira", est l'un des livres de l'Ancien Testament écrit vers 200 av. J.-C. "Le Siracide" tient son nom de son auteur, Jésus Ben Sira. L'ouvrage est un mélange de deux genres littéraires : tantôt des "proverbes", tantôt des développements structurés qui proposent des réflexions sur un sujet. Il s'agit toujours de la "Sagesse", représentée comme une personnification de la Sagesse divine.

"Le livre des Psaumes" (en hébreu, Livre des Louanges), aussi appelé Psautier, est un livre de la Bible. Le mot "psaume" vient du grec psalmos qui désigne un air joué sur le psaltérion. "Le livre des Psaumes", selon l'Évangile de Luc et les épîtres de Paul, est interprété par les chrétiens comme une prophétie des mystères du Christ. Les Pères de l'Église ont continué cette démarche car depuis le IVe siècle, le livre des psaumes est devenu le fondement de la liturgie chrétienne.

"Le 2e livre des Chroniques" est un livre de l'Ancien Testament. Il suit "Le 1er livre des Chroniques", qui retrace l'histoire du monde de la Création à la royauté de David. À l'origine ces deux livres n'en formaient qu'un, appelé "Livres des Chroniques", mais ils ont été divisés probablement pour des raisons d'encombrement.

"Le Deutéronome" est le cinquième livre de l'Ancien Testament. Il contient le récit des derniers discours de Moïse aux Israélites et le récit de sa mort, avant qu'ils n'entrent au pays de Canaan, sur l'autre rive du Jourdain. Il forme un second code de lois, après celui de l'Exode, d'où son titre de Deutéronome (seconde loi). Il retrace d'autre part différents événements vécus par les Israélites depuis leur sortie d'Égypte et déjà relatés dans les trois livres précédents du Pentateuque, (Exode, Lévitique et Nombres).

"Le livre des Nombres" est le quatrième livre de la Bible. Ce livre regroupe tous les éléments qui ont pris place entre la sortie d'Égypte et l'arrivée en terre promise. Il doit son titre aux nombreux dénombrements ou recensements des Israélites qu'il comporte, mais cela ne représente pas l'essentiel de l'ouvrage. Ce texte aborde des thèmes variés et on y trouve des récits, des textes de lois, des prophéties et des listes généalogiques. Il relate l'histoire du voyage d'Israël depuis le mont Sinaï jusqu'aux plaines de Moab à la frontière de Canaan.

"Le livre de l'Exode" est le deuxième livre de la Bible et de l'Ancien Testament. Il raconte l'exode hors d'Égypte des Hébreux sous la conduite de Moïse, le don des Dix Commandements et les pérégrinations du peuple hébreu dans le désert du Sinaï en direction de la Terre promise. Son titre originel en hébreu est Shemot, littéralement "les Noms". Traditionnellement, la rédaction du livre est attribuée à Moïse.

"Le Livre de la Genèse" est le premier livre de la Torah (Pentateuque), et donc de la Bible. Ce texte est fondamental pour le judaïsme et le christianisme. Récit des origines, il commence par la création du monde, œuvre de Dieu, suivie d'une narration relatant la création du premier couple humain. Adam et Ève, qui forment ce premier couple, désobéissent et sont exclus du jardin d'Éden. Dieu détruit alors l'humanité par le Déluge, dont seuls Noé et sa famille sont sauvés.
