Il romanzo non vede la partecipazione di Lupin. Quello che non manca sono le avventure e la fantasia dello scrittore, che elegge come eroina una donna coraggiosa e generosa che assume il ruolo di "giustiziera" intervenendo, con mezzi non ortodossi, in situazioni in cui la legge ha le mani legate.
