Landing a minor part in the Empire Theatre Eastbourne’s Christmas production of Cinderella, Charles Paris soon discovers that his main role is to gently introduce the show’s baffled American star, Kenny Polizzi, to the bizarre customs of English pantomime. During their sessions in the local pub, Charles finds himself increasingly caught up in Polizzi’s tangled affairs. But Charles is about to be far more involved than he might wish when he stumbles across a body beneath Eastbourne Pier.

Join Cinderella, P. I., in eight new fairy tale mystery stories for grown-ups. Along with our clever detective, search for a missing Prince Charming in "Cinderella and the Mysterious Blonde." (Could Prince Charming really be a rat and have another wife, our intrepid detective wonders.) Other missing persons include a Muse, Cinderella herself, and Cinderella's own young son and her little girl.

Actor, alcoholic and amateur sleuth Charles Paris returns in another quintet of humorous theatrical thrillers. All Charles asks for is a nice juicy part in a successful play - but wherever he appears on the bill, murder and mystery always play a starring role.
