概要

”Johnny Goudie is the Marc Maron of Austin music. The veteran singer/guitarist – best known for fronting early Nineties pop band Mr. Rocket Baby and, later, his major-label rock act, Goudie – stepped up to the microphone with a new intention in 2011 and launched the How Did I Get Here? podcast. Now 840-some episodes in, the hourlong, twice-weekly interview show gives the host a platform to really connect with his Austin music guests, not just on what’s happening in their careers, but also in the shared experience of music appreciation – and that’s where he truly shines.” -The Austin Chronicle 2019Copyright © 2011-2025 Johnny Goudie. Hello friends! Singer-songwriter, Scott Strickland returns to the show for part 1 of episode 1545! Scott just got back into town from a tour out west and hasn't been on the show in a couple of years, so I invited him on to catch up and got much more than either of us expected. That's why it's a two-parter. Go to scottstricklandband.com for tour dates, music, merch and more. We have a great conversation in part 1 about making his last EP "Strings Attached: The 1500 Sessions" (2024) live in an empty event venue, using Chat GPT to to book his last tour, using AI as a booking agent and manager, playing in Vegas, being married, recording, playing solo, and much more. Part 2 drops on Tuesday! I had a great time catching up with Scott! I'm sure you will too. Let's get down!

  • Erin Walter
    2026/02/10

Hello friends! Minister, activist, lead singer and bass player for Austin rock band Parker Woodland, Erin Walter returns to the show for episode 1544! Erin was recently featured in the Texas Monthly article, "All Eyes On Dilly" when she went to the Dilly, TX ICE detention facility with a group of interfaith ministers to protest last month. (Read the article HERE) Outside of being a rockstar, Erin is a minister with the Texas Unitarian Universal Justice Ministry and spends a lot of time fighting for justice for those that need it. I invited Erin on the show to talk about her work as an activist and her experience going up against ICE in Dilly. Erin has been front and center for a lot of the protests we've seen in the last year and she tells us how we can get involved at any level. Find out more about the Texas Unitarian Universal Justice Ministry at txuujm.org. We have a great conversation about fighting authoritarianism. Also, Parker Woodland will be playing on Friday, March 6th at 3Ten ACL Live with Molecular Steve and Stella and the Very Messed. Check out their new single, "Police On My Back" available wherever you stream. Go to parkerwoodlland.com for show dates, music, "Abolish ICE" t-shirts and more.
