  • The Colour Analysis Debate | Ep 12
    2026/08/19

Are you a spring, summer, autumn or winter, and should you actually let that decide what you wear?

This week, we’re breaking down the colour analysis obsession taking over TikTok, Instagram and ChatGPT. We chat about warm, cool and neutral undertones, why your ideal colours can change with your hair, makeup or fake tan, and whether professional colour analysis is genuinely worth the money.

From grey blending and blonde that ages you, to lipstick shades, foundation undertones and the eternal question of whether black really suits everyone, we’re unpacking how colour can completely change the way you look and feel.

But should a colour palette be a helpful guide, or can it stop you from wearing the things you love?

    Show notes

In Episode 12, we’re asking: what’s your season?

Seasonal colour analysis is everywhere right now, promising to reveal the exact shades that will make your skin glow, your eyes pop and your wardrobe finally make sense. But with so many variables involved, how accurate is it really?

    We chat about:

    • What seasonal colour analysis actually means
    • Warm, cool and neutral undertones
    • Why identifying your undertone isn’t always straightforward
    • How fake tan, makeup, lighting and hair colour can change everything
    • Choosing between the hair colour you love and the one that supposedly “suits” you
    • The reality and maintenance of grey blending
    • Why ultra-cool blonde isn’t necessarily the most flattering option
    • Balancing your hair, brows and makeup
    • Warm versus cool lipstick and foundation shades
    • Why the same colour can look completely different on two people
    • Whether black really suits everyone
    • The cost of professional colour analysis and whether we’d pay for it
    • Why confidence and personal style might matter more than following the rules

We also put ourselves in the Glossy Hot Seat to decide whether we’d rather wear the wrong hair colour or lipstick forever, which foundation mismatch is worse, and the most flattering colours we’ve ever worn.

Tell us what season you think you are and whether colour analysis has ever made you change your hair, makeup or wardrobe. DM us or comment on this week’s episode at @glossypod.

  • Episode 11 | What's Your Flavour? The Truth About Natural vs Synthetic Fragrance
    2026/07/09

    Hey guys!

Last episode we explored low-tox living and natural deodorants, but one topic kept coming up over and over again... fragrance.

What actually is "fragrance" on an ingredient list? Why don't companies have to tell us what's inside it? And is synthetic fragrance really as bad as social media makes it seem?

This week we're diving into the surprisingly fascinating world of perfume, candles, cleaning products and home scents. We unpack why fragrance is everywhere, how scent is connected to memory and emotion, why luxury perfumes cost hundreds of dollars, and whether "natural" always means safer.

Along the way we chat about signature scents, MECCA favourites, Ashley & Co, Byredo, oud, rose oil, fragrance marketing, nostalgia, and the fragrances that instantly transport us back to another time.

As always, we're separating beauty fact from beauty fiction so you can decide what actually matters to you.

Also... soz 😂 I was getting over a cold when we recorded this, so I'm a little more nasally than usual.

    Show Notes

    In this episode we discuss:

    • Why "fragrance" isn't actually one ingredient

    • Why companies don't have to disclose every fragrance ingredient

    • Natural vs synthetic fragrance: what's the real difference?

    • The truth behind low-tox fragrance claims

    • Why certain smells instantly trigger memories

    • How perfume brands sell emotions, not just scents

    • Why luxury perfumes cost hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars

    • The world's most expensive fragrance ingredients

    • Oud, rose oil and the fascinating stories behind luxury perfumes

    • Our favourite perfumes, signature scents and fragrance recommendations

    • Home fragrances, candles, diffusers and why stores smell so good

    Mentioned in this episode:
    Ashley & Co • Byredo • Tom Ford • Chantecaille • Jo Malone • Zara • MECCA • Comme des Garçons • Viktor & Rolf • Elijah • doTERRA

    2026/06/11

Is your deodorant secretly bad for you? Or is the low-tox movement sending us down another beauty rabbit hole?

This week on glossy*, we're unpacking one of the most debated products in our beauty routines: deodorant. From antiperspirants and aluminium salts to crystal deodorants, fragrance sensitivities, eczema, and the rise of low-tox beauty, we're diving into the facts, the myths, and everything in between.

Hannah shares her search for a deodorant that actually works after developing sensitivities to her long-time favourite, while Jaz questions whether we're being informed consumers or falling victim to clever marketing.

As always, we're not doctors — just two beauty professionals trying to make sense of the endless beauty information overload.

Show Notes - In this episode we chat about:

    • The Dermal Therapy Crystal Deodorant that's currently winning her over
