Empowering Mental Wellness and Wellness | Breaking Silence | Embracing Self-Care

Welcome to and thats oook, the podcast where we break the silence around stress, mental health, health, and the everyday struggle to prioritize self-care. Through honest conversations, practical strategies, insights, and shared experiences, we’re building a supportive community committed to healing and growth. Our episodes include stories, shared experiences, and support to help you navigate life. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, unseen, or simply ready to care for yourself more deeply, this is your space. You’re not alone.

Over time, and thats oook has grown into something deeper. We’ve evolved, finding clarity in our mission and courage in our voice. That evolution is now reflected in how we structure the show.

Here’s how to navigate our episodes:

🔹 Season
These are part of the main season. They explore powerful themes like health, healing, and growth through deep conversations, reflections, and lessons that guide us forward.

🔹 Journey
These are special episodes—real stories from real people. In these episodes, someone opens up and shares their personal journey with us. They’re honest, human, and full of heart.

💛 Together, both types of episodes create something beautiful:
A season that teaches, a story that heals, and a path where your voice, your health, and your story truly matter.

🎧 What’s a Bonus Episode?

Hey there! Sometimes, we like to share extra-special episodes called Bonus Episodes. These aren’t part of our current season—they’re special stories and moments pulled from our andthatsoook archives.

Think of them like treasures from the past—a peek into the early days when this podcast was just getting started. You’ll hear real voices, powerful stories, and the building blocks of what makes this podcast what it is today.

They’re fun, thoughtful, and full of heart.

We’re bringing them back so new listeners (like you!) can enjoy the journey too.

🌀 Past meets present. Bonus episodes = extra gems.
Tap in and let’s go back to where it all began.

Listening to these is like opening a time capsule—imperfect, powerful, and still unfolding.

Whether you’re new here or have been with us since the beginning, thank you for being part of this journey. There’s a place for you here.

Send us Fan MailWhat happens when our attachment patterns meet someone else's?In Episode 6 of Season 2, Katy and Omar explore attachment styles within partnerships and how our individual experiences can influence the way we connect with someone we care about.Partners can experience closeness, vulnerability, trust, communication, conflict, intimacy, reassurance, and the need for space in very different ways. Katy and Omar discuss how secure, anxious, avoidant, and fearful avoidant attachment patterns may show up within these moments and what can happen when different attachment styles interact with one another. This conversation also looks at the importance of taking care of yourself while being part of a partnership. Being connected to someone does not mean losing your individual needs, boundaries, or sense of self. Understanding your own patterns can help you recognize what you need, communicate more openly, and better understand how you respond when a relationship feels safe, uncertain, close, or distant. After exploring attachment through community, acquaintances, friendships, and family, we now bring the conversation into one of our closest relationships: our partners. The goal isn't to label yourself or your partner. Instead, Katy and Omar invite you to become curious about the patterns that may exist within your relationships and how greater awareness can create opportunities for healthier connection, communication, and personal wellbeing.DisclaimerThis episode is intended for educational and discussion purposes only. The perspectives shared include personal experiences, observations, research, and open conversation. • Attachments and Family

This is where we go back to the beginning.

In Episode 5 of Season 2, Katy and Omar explore attachment styles within the family and how some of our earliest relationships and experiences can contribute to the attachment patterns we carry forward in life.

Family can be one of the first places where we experience connection, comfort, trust, boundaries, conflict, consistency, and uncertainty. Those early experiences may influence how we learn to connect with others, respond to our own needs, and navigate relationships as we grow.

Katy and Omar discuss how the four common attachment styles may develop and how family dynamics, caregivers, childhood experiences, and other influences can play a role. They also explore an important part of this conversation: understanding where a pattern may have started does not mean blaming one person or one experience.

This episode brings us to the core of Season 2. After exploring attachment styles in the community, with coworkers and acquaintances, and within friendships, we now look at where some of these patterns may begin.

As always, the goal isn't to label yourself or someone in your family. It's to become curious about your experiences, recognize patterns, and consider how greater self-awareness can help you take care of yourself and the relationships that matter to you.

Attachment is complex. Family and early childhood experiences can contribute to attachment patterns, but they are not the only influences, and attachment patterns can change over time. Individual experiences vary greatly. This podcast is not a substitute for professional mental health advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

  • Carrie’s Journey: Growth, Friendship & Letting Go
    2026/09/20

    Send us Fan Mail

Carrie’s journey is one of growth, change, and the difficult realization that not every relationship is meant to follow us into every chapter of our lives.

Carrie and I used to work together before she made the decision to return to school and earn her master’s degree. As her life evolved, so did her relationships. Along the way, Carrie found herself facing the difficult decision to move on from old friendships while learning how to make space for new connections.

Carrie’s story creates a meaningful bridge between two seasons of and thats oook. From our conversations around women’s health, identity, and well-being to our exploration of friendships and attachment, her experience reminds us that relationships are an important part of our emotional health and that sometimes growth can change who we feel connected to.

What happens when a friendship no longer fits the person you’re becoming? How do you let go while still honoring what that relationship once meant?

This is Carrie, and this is her journey.
