    Our dear younger self series continues with today's topic being the challenge to stop compromising. We talk through the first part of Daniel as we see how he handles not compromising and the way in which he goes about it. Using him as our example, we discuss getting the root of what causes us to compromise & how to set up boundaries to keep us from compromising in the future. The reality is we say we want to abide more, but in the end, if we don't take intentional steps to help us abide, our human nature can get the best of us.

    Today's episode talks through the fact it is okay to change your mind, but I want to flush one thing out real quick before you jump into listening! I discuss comparing what David Platt says to what my pastor, Brother Tony, says. I also state that it is good practice to do this, but I want to add that it is the best practice to read the Bible yourself and see if what others are saying lines up with the Bible. I wanted to clarify we shouldn't take others' words & opinions to be true for what the Bible says but go read it for ourselves. I didn't feel as though that was clear in this episode, and I didn't want anyone to get it twisted or to lead them down a bad practice.

    yay! it's finally here. season 2 is starting with a new series, "dear younger self," we may think this trend has been played out. as i see short clips often on social media too, but in this series, we will do a deep dive into what we would tell our younger self. i hopes it encourages someone walking through it right this minute or shows us how we can grow from things in our past no matter where we are at in life.
