What does it mean to become comfortable with who you are, and confident enough to show it?
This week on Who Are You (Wearing?), Alice is joined by Scottish footballer, activist and entrepreneur Zander Murray for a warm, honest and occasionally chaotic conversation about identity, representation, confidence and finding your own style.
Zander made history as the first openly gay male footballer in Scotland, and has become a prominent voice for LGBTQ+ representation in football. He talks about growing up in the East End of Glasgow, rarely seeing gay representation in the media that felt like him, and the experience of coming out publicly, including the unexpected journey that took him onto Lorraine.
The conversation also explores the impact of Zander’s activism and why visibility in football still matters. He shares how those experiences have shaped his work today, including RIKA, his new training venture focused on helping people develop both physically and mentally while becoming the most authentic version of themselves.
And, naturally, we get into the clothes. From red carpet dressing and his first Pride outfit to the highs and lows of buying and selling on Vinted, Zander reveals how fashion has become another way of expressing who he is.

Who Are You (Wearing?) is the fashion podcast that's not really about clothes.
Hosted by Scottish presenter, journalist and producer Alice Cruickshank, the show uses fashion as a lens to explore identity, ambition, creativity and the stories that shape us. Through conversations with figures from entertainment, arts, culture and media, each episode uncovers the experiences behind the public image.
Edit assisted by Amy Pavri. Recorded at EH3 Studios in Edinburgh.
