This week on Shoalhaven Youthlocal, the team explores business advice, one of Sydney’s strangest unsolved mysteries, and the incredible science behind creatures that glow in the dark.
📚 Book Nook takes on The Diary of a CEO: The 33 Laws of Business and Life by Steven Bartlett. Arlo finds plenty of useful ideas about business, leadership, standing out from the crowd and managing a team — but does one disappointing ending really justify a zero-star review? You’ll have to listen to find out!
🦈 Morning Cup of Mystery investigates the incredible Shark Arm Case of 1935. When a tiger shark at a Sydney aquarium unexpectedly regurgitated a human arm, police were drawn into a bizarre murder investigation involving a missing boxer, criminals, blackmail, another mysterious death — and an arm that had apparently been swallowed by one shark before that shark was eaten by another. Nearly a century later, the case remains officially unsolved.
✨ Tide Talk lights up the ocean with a deep dive into bioluminescence. Bella explores how creatures create their own light, why glowing can help animals hunt, hide, communicate and defend themselves, and how bioluminescent plankton can transform the water into a spectacular blue glow — including right here in Jervis Bay.
It’s another episode full of curious facts, lively opinions, strange history and plenty of Youthlocal humour.
