  • Spotlight Competitions
    2026/04/28

There’s something exciting happening across the territory—and it’s called Spotlight. In this episode of Youth Down South, Emma sits down with Tom Hanton (Territorial Worship Arts Education Director) and David Delaney (Potomac Divisional Music Director) to talk about this new (to most) initiative that’s already making waves.

Together, they unpack the heart behind Spotlight—how it started, what it looks like at the divisional level, and why it’s about so much more than competition. From music and drama to dance and beyond, Spotlight is creating space for young people to grow in their gifts while deepening their faith and connection to worship.

You’ll also hear what participants and leaders can expect, how judging works, and how corps can prepare their young people both artistically and spiritually. Plus, we look ahead to the 2027 Territorial Centennial Celebration, where divisional winners will come together for an even bigger stage.

Whether you’re a leader, volunteer, or someone passionate about youth and the arts, this episode will help you see how Spotlight can strengthen worship, build confidence, and inspire the next generation to use their creativity for God’s glory.
