  • EP 139: You're Not Getting Old, You're Fading
    2026/08/18

Nobody tells you the day you start to fade.

It doesn't happen all at once. It starts with small, reasonable choices: skipping a workout, having another drink, lowering the goal, or accepting a version of yourself that doesn't feel quite as strong, driven, or capable as the person you used to be.

In EP 139 of Your Ultimate Comeback, Brad Davidson goes solo to break down what he calls "the fade," the gradual loss of strength, energy, ambition, and resilience that can happen as we get older.

But not all of it is a choice.

Brad explains how your biology begins changing between the ages of 35 and 55, why those changes can show up in your blood work before you ever notice them in the mirror, and why even disciplined people can find themselves stuck despite working harder.

The answer isn't simply more discipline. It's understanding both your biology AND your mindset.

Brad also introduces the Ikaria Method, an eight-step approach designed to uncover what's happening inside your body, rebuild the foundations of your health, and create a strategy for becoming stronger and more capable in the decades ahead.

This isn't about desperately trying to stay young. It's about refusing to quietly accept a smaller version of your life.

    In this episode:

    • How "the fade" actually begins
    • The small choices that slowly compound
    • What changes biologically between 35 and 55
    • Four overlooked health markers
    • Why disciplined people still get stuck
    • Why mindset alone isn't enough
    • Staying dangerous instead of simply "aging gracefully"
    • The two paths you can take over the next decade
    • Why Brad created the Ikaria Method
    • The eight steps of the Ikaria Method
    • Who the program is and isn't designed for
    • How to take the first step toward reclaiming your edge

    The fading isn't a diagnosis. It's a decision.

  • EP 138: Diagnosed With Type 1 Diabetes at 33: How Nick Reynolds Changed His Life
    2026/08/11

At 33 years old, Nick Reynolds was active, eating well, and living what he considered a healthy lifestyle. Then routine blood work revealed something he never expected: an A1C of 12.5 and a diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes.

In EP 138 of Your Ultimate Comeback, Brad and Raquel sit down with Nick Reynolds, the creator behind Bird’s Kitchen (@birdskitchen), to talk about how an unexpected diagnosis completely changed his relationship with food, fitness, and his own body.

Nick shares what led to his diagnosis, the symptoms he initially overlooked, and how he learned to manage his blood sugar without giving up his love of cooking and eating great food.

Rather than allowing diabetes to define or restrict him, Nick turned the experience into an opportunity to learn more about nutrition and eventually share what he was discovering with others. Today, Bird’s Kitchen combines approachable recipes, restaurant recommendations, and Nick’s perspective on enjoying food while managing Type 1 diabetes.

Brad, Raquel, and Nick also get into meal planning, dining out, walking after meals, surprising blood sugar responses, fitness, healthy cooking, and even the tinned fish trend.

This episode is a reminder that a life-changing diagnosis doesn't have to take away the things you love. It can become the beginning of learning how to understand your body in an entirely new way.

    In this episode:

    • Nick Reynolds’ Type 1 diabetes diagnosis at 33
    • Discovering an A1C of 12.5
    • Symptoms he experienced before his diagnosis
