  • Summer Replay: Mashpia / Mekabel Part 3
    2026/09/23

Summer Replay: We’re bringing back some of Your RelationShift’s most-loved episodes! Whether you’re hearing this conversation for the first time or returning to it with fresh ears, this episode takes the Mashpia-Mekabel dynamic from theory into the realities of everyday marriage.

Hindi Kalmenson and Chayale Tzukernik explore the subtle ways women can unintentionally disrupt the natural flow of giving and receiving in a relationship. Through relatable, real-life scenarios, they unpack how well-intentioned behaviors—nurturing, correcting, taking over, or expressing disapproval—can sometimes leave little room for a husband to step into his role as Mashpia. They also look beneath these patterns to the fears and insecurities that may be driving them.

With practical guidance rooted in Torah and Chassidic wisdom, Hindi and Chayale discuss what it looks like to loosen our grip, make space, and cultivate greater trust and respect in marriage. Revisit this RelationShift favorite for a powerful reminder that sometimes creating more connection isn’t about doing more—it’s about recognizing what we can let go of and allowing a healthier dynamic to emerge.

  • Rosh Hashana
    2026/09/11

In this special Rosh Hashanah episode of *Your Relationshift*, Hindi Kalmenson and Chayale Tzukernik explore a deceptively simple question: What do I really want? Amid the busyness and intensity of preparing for Yom Tov, it can be difficult to slow down long enough to name our desires—or to trust that the things we want are worthy of bringing to Hashem. Drawing on teachings of the Rebbe and the themes of Rosh Hashanah, Hindi and Chayale invite us to look beneath our wants and recognize the deeper longing at their core: to feel closer and more connected to Hashem. They reflect on “Min hameitzar karasi Kah” and the idea that recognizing how much more connection is possible can awaken a desire to grow beyond our current limitations.

The conversation also offers a softer way to approach the awe of Rosh Hashanah through the words Avinu Malkeinu: Hashem is not only our King, but our Father. We don't need perfectly organized, lofty, or sophisticated requests—we can come as we are, with desires that are vulnerable, ordinary, messy, and deeply human. Hindi and Chayale discuss the unique energy of a Rosh Hashanah that falls on Shabbos, the power of presence and receiving, and the meaningful role of women’s tefillos. As Rosh Hashanah approaches, this episode is an invitation to slow down, become present to what you truly want, and bring all of yourself into your relationship with Hashem, trusting that He meets you exactly where you are.

  • Summer Replay: Mashpia / Mekabel Part 1
    2026/08/25

Summer Greatest Hits: We’re bringing back some of Your RelationShift’s most-loved episodes! Whether you’re hearing this conversation for the first time or returning to it with fresh ears, this foundational episode explores one of the core concepts of RelationShift: the dynamic of Mashpia and Mekabel.

In this episode, co-hosts Hindi Kalmenson and Chayale Tzukernik delve into the profound dynamics of “Mashpia” (giver) and “Mekabel” (receiver) within relationships. Rooted deeply in Torah and Chassidic teachings, this concept offers a framework for understanding the natural energies of masculinity and femininity. Hindi and Chayale unpack some of the societal baggage and preconceived notions surrounding these ideas, emphasizing that masculinity and femininity aren’t simply rigid gender roles, but dynamic energies with the potential to transform the way we understand ourselves and our relationships.

Through personal anecdotes, Kabbalistic insights, and practical applications, Hindi and Chayale challenge the misconception that being a Mekabel means being weak or passive. Instead, they explore the strength it takes to trust, remain open, and truly receive. Revisit this RelationShift favorite and discover—or rediscover—why understanding the interplay between Mashpia and Mekabel can create greater connection, balance, and clarity in our relationships. Look through our history to find part 2!
