- Melvin Erickson photographed the padlocked boathouse at 7:10 AM and noted condensation on the inside of the porthole.
- Deputies cut the padlock by 8:05 AM and found Gail Donnelly on the dock planking inside the boathouse.
- Gail had driven to work the night before and didn’t return; her Subaru was found at home with engine cold and doors locked.
- Two women left Harwick Feed & Supply within seventeen minutes on the evening of January 8: Gail carrying troubling financial figures, Nicole Rogers with managerial access.
- Gail had recently changed her will; Dennis Pratt knew of the change and lacked an alibi for the critical hours.
