  • Delight Anyway: Practices for Pursuing Joy, Even Now
    2026/06/23

Welcome to Delight Anyway, season 5 of You Gotta Try This!

In this series, I'll share with you some things you can try right now to bring a little more joy and wonder into your life. I truly believe it will make you more resilient, and better able to cope with everything life is throwing at us. If we’re going to take care of ourselves, take care of each other, advocate for the vulnerable, fight for justice, we can’t afford to run out of gas. Just like our bodies need air, food, and water, our souls need the nourishment of deep connection, wonder, and joy.

In today's episode, you'll hear a conversation with my new friend Brooke Fussner about what she does to build moments of joy into her life, and you'll hear a poem by Ellen Bass called Relax.

Tune in each week to hear about small, practical ways to cultivate delight even when everything’s upside down.

Make sure to check out our Instagram to see glimpses of every day delight.

Thanks to Brooke for coming on today, and to my editor, Belle Battista.

  • June: You Gotta Read This!
    2026/06/05

It's the first Friday of June, so we're here with this month's recommendation for the podcast book group, You Gotta Read This!

This month I picked Wild and Precious: A Celebration of Mary Oliver. It was produced as an audio-documentary, available on Audible, Spotify, and other audio-book platforms. (No hard copy exists!)

Because of the audio-only format, I can’t add it to our Bookshop, but remember you can go there to find all the other books we’ve ever talked about on the show. It remains is a great place to buy books from independent booksellers and support this show.

Let us know what you think! Send in your thoughts, questions, recommendations, and delights to yougottatrythispodcast@gmail.com, and remember to follow us on Instagram.
