You eat healthy. You have for years. Better food, more protein, fewer processed meals, almost none of the junk you used to live on. Compared with five or ten years ago, you have genuinely cleaned up.
That is why the belief feels so reasonable. Good food should mean the fat leaves.
It hasn’t. The gut is still there, and you cannot explain why.
Here is what you have not examined. Fat loss does not respond to how healthy your food is. It responds to how much of it you eat over time. A ribeye, two sides and a few glasses of red wine with a client on Thursday. Dinner out with your wife on Saturday. Two evenings that never make it into the way you describe your week on Monday morning.
You would not run a business on a diagnosis you had never checked. You would not accept “we’re doing the right things” as the explanation for flat margins. Yet that is the standard you have accepted for your body composition.
Marwan Killu spent years eating clean, avoiding restaurants and watching his sons eat ice cream, convinced that restriction was discipline. It was a guess.
Healthy was never the same as accurate. The diet you describe on Monday is not the diet you are eating.
