Have you ever wondered why God doesn’t simply give us a powerful miracle whenever our faith begins to weaken? In 1 Nephi 7:6–13, Laman and Lemuel begin rebelling again—even after seeing an angel and witnessing the Lord miraculously help them obtain the brass plates. Nephi asks them a piercing question: “How is it that ye have forgotten?” Their experience teaches us that yesterday’s miracles were never meant to sustain today’s faith by themselves. Just as our bodies need consistent nourishment, our spirits need daily nourishment too. Prayer, scripture study, the sacrament, temple worship, service, and following the Spirit may seem small compared with witnessing an angel—but those consistent acts of discipleship help us remember God and keep our hearts turned toward Him. Miracles can inspire us. Daily devotion transforms us. If your testimony feels weaker than it once did, you may not need a bigger spiritual experience. You may simply need to return to the small and simple practices that reconnect you with the Lord every day. Scripture: 1 Nephi 7:6–13 Remember: The Lord is aware of you. He loves you. And He will guide you through your wilderness. Until next time, keep holding to the iron rod.
