  • King of the Ant Hill - King of the Hill S01E11
    2025/09/29

Hank’s pride and joy—his lawn—meets its toughest challenge yet. Between Khan’s smug digs, Dale’s sabotage, and Bobby’s strange new fascination with fire ants, “King of the Ant Hill” turns a simple yard into a battlefield.

In this episode, we dig into:

    • Dale’s self-worth being tied to his exterminator gig—and how far he’ll go when Hank undercuts him
    • Bobby’s ant “mind control” subplot (and whether it’s magic or just Bobby being Bobby)
    • Peggy’s Cinco de Mayo Spanish flubs and the return of Buckley
    • Deleted scenes with Hank’s shoes/socks in the muck
    • The Silence of the Lambs spoof in Dale’s basement and whether it’s his darkest moment yet
    • Why Bill, Boomhauer, and even Khan piling on Hank feels so harsh
    • Dale’s redemption-by-sacrifice when he saves Bobby from the ants

It’s a gross one—sugar foam, Hank’s bare feet, ants everywhere—but also a standout for how much it develops Dale, Peggy, Bobby, and even Hank’s relationship to his lawn.

  • Keeping Up With Our Joneses - King of the Hill S01E10
    2025/09/15

It’s a family that smokes together… but can they quit together? This week, we light up Season 1, Episode 10 of King of the Hill, “Keeping Up With Our Joneses.” Hank catches Bobby sneaking a cigarette and decides the best punishment is making him smoke a whole carton—only for Hank and Peggy to relapse into their old tobacco habit. What follows is a hazy spiral of addiction, denial, and some of the funniest moments in early KOTH.

    Highlights from our discussion include:

    • Bobby’s clueless but earnest approach to smoking (“What nationality are you?” “American.”)
    • Hank showing off his “cool” cigarette tricks and accidentally impressing Bobby
    • Peggy and Hank reliving their youth with some nostalgic nicotine-fueled romance
    • Deleted scenes with Bobby chasing smokes alongside the Nicoteens
    • Luanne stepping up as the voice of reason (and dog trainer) in the Hill household
    • Our own stories of growing up around cigarettes, trying them, and quitting them
    • Background gags and animation quirks we caught (including disappearing potatoes and bathroom door mix-ups)
    • How smoking culture of the ‘90s shaped this episode — from cigarette machines to PSAs

By the end, Hank, Peggy, and Bobby are strung out, Luanne’s got the whistle, and Boomhauer gives us a PSA you don’t want to miss.

  • Peggy The Boggle Champ - King of the Hill S01E09
    2025/09/01

Peggy Hill goes to state—but is this really her crowning moment, or just another case of Hank being a complete jackass? Ronnie and Rob go head-to-head over one of the most conflicting episodes of King of the Hill Season 1, with drama, laughs, and maybe even a few tears.

    Highlights include:

    • Is this actually the best Peggy episode so far? Ronnie and Rob don’t see eye to eye... until they do.
    • Steely Dan(ny Davito) & the guitar stylings of Jeff "Skunk" Baxter.
    • The incredible voice acting showcase—from Kathy Najimy to Laurie Metcalf’s unforgettable Sissy Cobb.
    • NFL / Dallas Cowboys talk – Troy Aikman rumors, Dak Prescott’s “Here we go!” cadence, becoming a Cowboys fan.
    • The Dallas Mower Expo ad: overstimulating nonsense that might’ve predicted TikTok.
    • Skunk Baxter’s last musical contribution to KOTH (and how Steely Dan ties into the show).
    • Natural Selection 2 video game tournament – Ronnie’s experience competing and losing the first match but still making it to the finals.
    • Hank’s baffling behavior—out of character jerk, or jealous husband with a fragile ego?
    • The boggle-playing chicken: the hero we deserve?
    • Ronnie’s real-life story of competing in a video game tournament (and what it taught him about Peggy’s arc).
    • Purses, cinder blocks, and whether Hank really would pay for an $8 minibar beer.

  • Shins of the Father - King of the Hill S01E08
    2025/08/18

Cotton Hill crashes Bobby’s 12th birthday party, and suddenly the balloons aren’t the only thing deflating. In Shins of the Father, King of the Hill introduces its most complicated (and shinless) character—and Rob and Ronnie have a lot to say about him. From bean dip meltdowns to Cotton’s shotgun parenting style, this one’s as dense and hilarious as they come.

    We also get into:

    • The tragic comedy of Bobby’s stand-up act
    • Why Bill might’ve had the best time at Bobby’s party
    • Had Peggy heard the Hotel Arlen story?
    • The bean dip anxiety spiral/middle school social pressure
    • Luanne actually standing up for herself (!), corn pone threats included
    • Cotton’s insane war story: feeding Fatty to sharks before things “took a turn for the worse”
    • Dale’s disappearing kidney conspiracy
    • Peggy’s lipstick monologue and Hank finally putting his foot down

  • KOTH Revival Is Here: From Cringe to Modern Classic
    2025/08/07

It’s been 15 years… but Arlen is back, baby!

King of the Hill Season 14 has landed, and the Yep boys have thoughts. Ronnie and Rob binge-watched all ten episodes of the revival (twice, in some cases), and they're here to talk about all of it—the surprises, the animation, the voice changes, the emotional gut-punches, and of course… Saudi Arabia. It's a no-spoilers-barred convo about the return of the Hills.

    Topics discussed:

    • Why the first episode didn't work (but the rest of the season shines)
    • Bobby Hill: Dallas restaurant owner, grown-up, still adorable!
    • Dale's new voice(s)
    • The Connie & Bobby relationship—sweet, awkward, and perfectly serialized
    • Lauren Tom kicks ass
    • The most upsetting voice recast (spoiler: it's Khan)
    • Old characters in new contexts
    • How the revival nails "slice of life" storytelling in modern Arlen

  • Westie Side Story - King of the Hill S01E07
    2025/07/21

New neighbors just moved in—and the Hills are about to learn a lot more than they bargained for.... or not. It’s the episode that introduces the Souphanousinphones, kicks off Hank and Khan’s long-running feud, and features one of the greatest burgers ever grilled. The Yep boys dig into the culture clash, the passive-aggressive culinary warfare, and why Dale is so sure someone got blowdarted.

    We talk about:

    • How this episode was going to be (but thankfully wasn't) the King of the Hill pilot
    • Bringing Doritos on a manufactured life boat situation
    • Peggy’s spectacular display of unearned cultural confidence
    • Avoiding neighbors
    • The first appearance of Minh, and why she’s such a perfect character
    • Hoping a pretty girl would move in next door (so you could never actually talk to her, just admire from inside your house)
    • Hank’s descent into suspicion, snooping, and possible psychosis
    • Domino's 30 minute delivery
    • The delicate art of crafting a burger that makes Hank betray propane
    • How Bobby and Connie’s sweet friendship mirrors their dads’ journey to tolerance
    • That extremely weird Dale ending...

Is the meat dog? Is the neighbor Japanese? Is nutmeg the secret to everything? We’re answering almost none of these questions—just talking it all through.

  • Hank's Unmentionable Problem w/ John Paul Scotto - King of the Hill S01E06
    2025/07/07

Life, death, and pooping... this episode has it all! Author and podcaster John Paul Scotto joins the Yep boys to crack open one of King of the Hill’s strangest early episodes—where Hank’s stubborn bowels just might kill him.

    We talk about:

    • How Hank’s constipation isn’t just physical, it’s emotional
    • ALL the fluids
    • Why this is probably the least “funny” episode so far… and why that’s actually brilliant
    • Being made to decay and sucked by trees
    • Peggy turning into Hank’s overbearing caretaker (with a little too much Megamucil)
    • Doctor's attitudes
    • Bobby being the only Hill with a healthy relationship to reality
    • The genuinely tender moment that finally gets Hank’s plumbing moving again

It’s an awkward, oddly sweet look at marriage, privacy, and trying to keep the people you love alive—even if you have to sneak laxatives into their ice cream. (Sorry, Hank.)

  • Luanne's Saga - King of the Hill S01E05
    2025/06/23

In Season 1’s most emotionally raw and visually strange episode yet, Hank scrambles to fix Luanne’s heartbreak like she’s a busted carburetor—because he kind of wants his den back. But what starts as a mission of self-interest becomes something much more tender… even if Hank has to eat his feelings to get there.

    We also discuss:

    • The moment Bill might’ve fallen in love with Peggy

    • The debut of Chuck Mangione and how “Feels So Good” became a recurring joke

    • Boomhauer’s role as the quiet moral center of the group

    • Peggy’s feminist monologue—so intense it was cut for syndication

    • Rob crying on an 18-hour car ride because he didn’t ask for a girl’s number

    • Ronnie playing video games all summer after getting dumped

    • Buckley’s chocolates

    • Bobby licking syrup off a plate at midnight while everyone else spirals

This one’s got heart, tears, VHS workout tapes, and possibly the origin of Hank’s unmentionable problem.
