このコンテンツについて

When Rob Couch grew up in Texas, he was a little bit Bobby. When he worked as a substitute teacher, he was a little bit Peggy. When he tried to show his son how to patch drywall and fix a toilet, he was a little bit Hank. Ronnie Neeley’s a musician, just like Chuck Mangione. He’s worked with Adult Swim, just like Mike Judge. He’s podcasted about animated TV for years, just like he and Rob are doing now, out in the alley. King of the Hill is full of great storytelling, amazing characters, irresistible voices, and hilarious lines. The guys talk about all that, plus the memories, nonsense, and life lessons that come up along the way in one big episode-by-episode celebration of this show they love. • Night and Deity - King of the Hill S07E21
    2025/12/08

What happens when Dale Gribble meets a woman who can match his enthusiasm for extermination? 🐜

In this episode of Yep, we are discussing "Night and Deity", where Dale finds a soulmate in Sheila Refkin, the "Pigeon God of Heimlich County". While Sheila is strangely attracted to Dale, he remains delightfully oblivious, viewing her only as a colleague in the war against pests. Nancy, realizing she has actual feelings for her husband, finds herself "Gribbling" in the basement to spy on them. Meanwhile, Hank accidentally gets sloshed on Luanne's 21st birthday, and Bill and Boomhauer trip-sit a pigeon. Bobby faces a troubling ethical dilemma, but... we never really see what happens with that.

  • Goodbye Normal Jeans - King of the Hill S07E04
    2025/11/24

As Thanksgiving approaches in Arlen, Bobby discovers a hidden prodigy-level talent for Home Ec, mastering cooking, sewing, and cleaning in record time. While Hank is initially skeptical, he is quickly won over by Bobby’s ability to create bluejeans and a pot roast that puts “Tuesday Night Pork Chops” to shame. This domestic shift triggers a massive identity crisis for Peggy, who views Bobby’s competence as a hostile takeover of her role as wife and mother. Today the Yep boys break down Peggy’s spiral into a one-sided rivalry, the strangely specific harassment in the B-plot, and how the show manages to deliver a genuinely sweet resolution amidst the chaos.

    🦃 Topics include:

    • The Kit Boss Resume: A look at the career of episode writer Kit Boss, his work on Bill Nye the Science Guy, and his eventual transition to Louis C.K.'s Lucky Louie alongside Pam Adlon.
    • Soiled Cheerleader Uniforms: Discussing Ms. Bittner’s class, where she and the janitor aggressively stain clothing with cake frosting to teach the children a lesson. Ms. Bittner is funny, the janitor likes fingers.
    • Wolf Brand Nostalgia: Analyzing the sodium-rich reality of Frito Pie with Wolf Brand Chili, and how Peggy’s claim that she “made it perfect” just involves opening bags and cans.
    • The Anatomy of a Bad Friend: Breaking down the B-plot where Dale bets Bill a million dollars he can't make a basket, and then proceeds to harass him to the point of financial ruin over a "joke".
    • Yard Waste & Hairdressers: Peggy’s attempt to reclaim her status with a centerpiece made of literal garbage, and her trip to Ernst, voiced by Toby Huss doing a "European" accent that sounds suspiciously like Kahn.
    • The "Buddy" System: Hank's genuine bonding with Bobby over the custom "Buddy" for his circular saw, proving they can connect when domestic gender norms are removed from the equation.

  • Hank's Back Story - King of the Hill S05E19
    2025/11/10

While preparing for the big mower race, Hank gets a backache and visits a doctor who diagnoses him with Diminished Gluteal Syndrome (DGS)—a genetic condition resulting in "no ass". Hank, who is usually the leader among his friends, is forced to wear a saline orthotic, leading to an iconic visual gag of his "puckered" little butt. This health issue immediately plunges Hank into public humiliation from his friends (especially Dale, the episode's villain), but it also introduces him to a supportive secret society of fellow DGS sufferers. We dissect Hank's struggle to accept his vulnerability, Peggy's cunning methods to get him help, and how Bobby provides the motivation for Hank to overcome his fear of ridicule.

    🍑 Topics include:
    • The Look of DGS: Discussing the great imagery of Hank's small booty and the hilarious fact that no other show was tackling this relatable phenomenon.
    • The Unsung Hero Peggy: Celebrating Peggy's manipulative but effective interventions (and knowing more than God).
    • The Anatomy of a Low-Blow: Analyzing Dale's move of stabbing Hank's saline cheek mid-race, which leaves Hank in physical pain, and why Hank needs better friends.
    • Off-Topic Health & Fitness: Ronnie's experience with serious back injuries that forced him to stand at the kitchen table to use his computer, and Rob's workout tips on activating your glutes.
    • Pop Culture Nods: Discussing the high concentration of acting talent in a small role like Dave Ulster (played by David McGowan, known for Frasier's Kenny Daly and his role in Rob's beloved Bad Santa), and the glute-working dance moves from the Rocky Horror Picture Show's "Time Warp".
    • Lawn Mower Racing: A look at the real-life sport of riding mower racing, its description as the "poor man's NASCAR", and the current races happening in places like Gun Barrel City, Texas.
    • The True Champion: Inversely, noting the more nihilistic approach to winning—that Boomhauer is the one who wins because he is the one not doing anything else or over-preparing for the event.
    • Peggy's Big Feet: Her newfound pride in her large feet—“16 and a half on my left foot, 16 on my right”—a big shift from her shyness in Season 1.
