So, what went down? Xcel started the day okay but then slipped as the hours rolled on. It was like watching a slow bleed. Nothing too dramatic, but definitely not the vibe you want when you’re holding shares.
Now, why did this happen? Well, there’s a couple of things in the mix. First up, Segall Bryant & Hamill LLC decided to take a position in Xcel. That usually gets people talking, but it didn’t seem to spark much excitement today. On the flip side, there’s some chatter about ongoing power outages at the Long Lake facility. Whenever something like that pops up, it can make investors a bit jittery. Plus, the news about Xcel starting to bury power lines in Boulder County is cool and all, but it doesn’t seem to have energized the stock like they hoped. It’s a long-term play, but today? Not so much.
Here’s a quick fact to keep in your back pocket: Mizuho Securities is still all in with a buy rating on Xcel, keeping their target price at 92 bucks. That’s pretty optimistic, but we’ll see how things play out.
Alright, that’s a wrap for today! Remember, this isn’t financial advice, just me chatting about what’s happening. Keep your chin up, and catch you later!
