Wynn Varble has written some of the most iconic songs in country music for Brad Paisley, Garth Brooks, and Easton Corbin—and he brought the stories behind them to God’s Country. Wynn joins Reid and Dan to share how he and Darryl Worley wrote “Have You Forgotten?” in just 90 minutes, the story behind Brad Paisley’s “Waitin’ on a Woman,” and the lessons he learned while trying to make it as a Nashville songwriter. They also talk about Wynn’s years as Darryl Worley’s roommate, catching six-pound smallmouth on Tennessee’s Duck River, surviving an unexpected Asian carp attack, and why the best country songs come from real life. Plus, Wynn performs the unreleased “Nashville Tears” and closes the episode with “Waitin’ on a Woman”—a song Reid calls one of the greatest country songs ever written. Subscribe to God’s Country for more conversations where country music, songwriting, hunting, fishing, faith and the outdoors all come together. #WynnVarble #GodsCountryPodcast #CountryMusic #Songwriting #BradPaisley #DarrylWorley TBH INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/thebrothershunt/ TBH FACEBOOK: TBHhttps://www.facebook.com/thebrothershunt/ GCP FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/godscountrypodcast GCP INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/thegodscountrypodcast/ TBH/ GCP TIKTOK: https://www.tiktok.com/@brothershunt?lang=en TBH MERCH: https://the-brothers-hunt.myshopify.com/ Learn more about your ad choices.
