Cody was born dead to a drug-addicted mother and as a result, has scars all over his body to this day. He survived the projects, the foster care system, and life on the streets at 18 years old. At 20 years old in the Texas prison system, 3 years into his sentence he desired a new way of life. When he learned his worth in Jesus, it changed him and he never looked back. Now Cody and his wife lead a church and travel to prisons with the message to remove the labels of society by seeing and accepting all people as Jesus does. WEB: www.worthypeople.org MAIL: P.O. What does it actually take for God to get our attention? Sometimes it happens in the most unexpected places, through the most unexpected people. In this conversation, we explore the raw and honest reality of how God pursues us even when we are deep in cycles of self-destruction, chasing the wrong things to fill a void that only he can fill. A jail cell became a sanctuary. A cellmate with no platform, no following, and no resources became the messenger who changed everything. The central truth here is both humbling and liberating: God does not wait for perfect conditions or polished messengers to reach a heart that is ready. The story of David reminds us of this same principle. When everyone else was overlooked or dismissed, the one tending sheep in obscurity was the one God had chosen. We spend so much energy trying to fit into circles we were never meant to belong to, wearing armor that was never designed for us, when God has already set apart a unique purpose for each of us. The invitation in this conversation is not just to receive that truth but to carry it. Every moment we share the gospel, no matter how small it seems, has the potential to set something in motion that we may not see the fruit of for years. The seed planted in a jail cell grew into something that has now reached millions. That is not an accident. That is God.

  • From Drugs and Being Trafficked to Jesus
    2026/10/28

What happens when a life built on pain, survival, and running from God finally stops long enough to hear something different? Not a warning about hell, not a list of rules, but a story about the goodness of God. That single shift, from a God who is angry to a God who restores, is what cracked open a heart that had been closed for years. We explore what it looks like when redemption is not just a concept but a lived reality, walking through foster care, addiction, prison, and ultimately a prison floor where everything changed. The story of Jonah and Nineveh runs quietly beneath the surface here, reminding us that the calling we run from has a way of finding us anyway. The question this raises for all of us is honest and searching: what is it that we have been avoiding, and what might God do if we finally said yes?

What does it look like to go all in for God when life has handed you nothing but broken roads? This conversation takes us deep into the reality of street life, addiction, incarceration, and what it truly means to surrender. The central message here is not a polished testimony from someone who had it easy. It is raw, honest, and grounded in the kind of faith that gets forged in the hardest places. We hear about the tension between two worlds, one pulling toward the streets and one pulling toward something greater, and how that tension can only be resolved through full surrender. Not halfway. Not one foot in and one foot out. The word of God is presented here not as a religious obligation but as a living weapon, drawing from Ephesians 6, which describes spiritual warfare and the armor available to every believer. The parallel drawn between how we once went all in on destructive habits and how we hold back when it comes to God is one of the most striking and honest observations in this conversation. It challenges us to ask ourselves whether we are truly committed or just comfortable. If we are in a season of feeling forgotten or hopeless, this is a word worth sitting with.
