What do you do when the altars of God are empty and the altars of the world seem to stand unchallenged?

In this episode of Words From The Word, Pastor Roderick Webster opens Judges 6:26 (KJV) and follows Gideon through a two-part assignment from God: tear down the altar of Baal, and build an altar unto the Lord.

Pastor Webster connects that ancient calling to the condition of the church today — calling believers to replace indifference with prayer, cold worship with genuine praise, and fear with courageous faith. You will hear how God changed entire eras through 300, through 120, through anyone willing to stand. Faith and fear, he reminds us, cannot live in the same heart.

Is there something in your life that has slowly, quietly moved into the place that belongs to God? That uncomfortable question opens this episode of Words From The Word with Pastor Roderick Webster.

Drawing from Judges 6:25-29 and Hebrews 11:32 (KJV), Pastor Webster unpacks the night Gideon tore down his own father's altar to Baal — afraid, but obedient.

You will learn what an idol actually is, why courageous faith does not require fearlessness, and how to respond when God calls you to remove something that has taken His place. A practical, honest, and hopeful word for anyone who wants to say yes to God today.
