    Bram’s Birth Story

Bram’s birth was one of those experiences that was both completely unexpected and exactly what I hoped for—a home birth surrounded by the people I love, with a few wild surprises along the way.

Labor started subtly, with what I thought might just be my usual cramping and back pain. By that evening, though, things had clearly shifted. I ended up laboring at home for hours, mostly in the bathtub, while our birth team made their way to the house.

And then, in true birth-story fashion, things suddenly went from calm to “the baby is coming!”

There were some funny and unexpected moments along the way—including discovering he was a boy when he was born, my desperate need for my post-birth chocolate chip cookies, and some surprisingly intense after-birth contractions.

But one of the sweetest moments came the next morning when Ojai woke up and came upstairs to meet his baby brother for the first time. ❤️

It was intense, empowering, unexpected, and one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life.

    In this episode:
    • Recognizing the early signs of labor
    • Laboring in my own bath tub
    • The surprisingly fast 2nd birth
    • Our first hours with Bram
    • My postpartum birth cookies 🍪
    • The unexpected afterbirth contractions
    • Ojai meeting his baby brother for the first time

Thanks for listening and letting me share this very special story with you. Please share this episode with someone you know who is looking for an inspiring home birth story.❤️

  • Ep. 75 Our Experience with Survival Swim Lessons for our Toddler
    2026/06/03

In this episode of Wisdom of the Womb, I'm sharing our family's experience enrolling our nearly three-year-old son in survival swim lessons. From the emotional challenges of watching him learn these life-saving skills to the incredible transformation we've witnessed, this conversation dives into one of the most important parenting decisions we've made.

Did you know that drowning is one of the leading causes of death for children under four? Yet many traditional swim programs can take years to teach essential water safety skills, often leaving children reliant on floaties and puddle jumpers that can create a false sense of security.

    In this episode, I discuss:

    • Why we decided survival swim lessons were a non-negotiable investment in our son's safety
    • The concerning realities of childhood drowning risks
    • Our experience with a Swim Float Swim program focused on self-rescue skills
    • The unique techniques used to simulate real-life water emergencies
    • What intensive lessons actually look like
    • The emotional side of the process—for both parents and children
    • How we prepared our son before lessons began
    • My thoughts on how survival swim lessons differ from sleep training
    • The positive changes and confidence we've already seen
    • The difference between gentle parenting and attachment parenting in situations like this

If you're raising babies or parenting toddlers, this episode may change the way you think about water safety forever.

If this conversation resonates with you, please share it with a friend, family member, or fellow parent who could benefit from hearing it.

And if you're enjoying Wisdom of the Womb, please take a moment to leave a rating and review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. Your support helps the show grow and allows me to continue bringing these important conversations to you.

  • Ep. 74 What to do if your husband or partner isn’t on board with health changes?
    2026/05/20

As women move through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood, it’s natural to begin questioning old patterns and wanting to make different choices for your health, your home, and your children. But what happens when your partner isn’t fully on board?

In this episode, I’m sharing one of the most common conversations I have with clients, friends, and women inside my coaching programs: how to navigate difficult conversations with your spouse when you’re growing, learning, and changing.

Maybe you started your relationship aligned on everything… but over time your values, priorities, or health decisions evolved. Suddenly the changes you want to make around food, wellness, parenting, or lifestyle begin creating tension or resistance in your relationship.

I’ve experienced this personally in my own marriage and have supported hundreds of women through it as well.

In this episode, I break down the three foundational principles I always return to when approaching hard conversations with your partner:

    • Speaking from the “I”
    • Approaching conversations with love and respect
    • Staying as curious as possible

From there, I share the three approaches I teach my clients to help navigate these moments with more connection, understanding, and less conflict. I also share real-life examples of how these conversations have played out for clients and why sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is model what’s possible while allowing others the space to come to their own understanding.

This is the kind of deep, supportive work we do inside my Group Coaching Program, Generational Wellness, and in private coaching.
