Will Guilfoile is 29 and living with stage 4 melanoma that has spread to his brain, bones and organs. Every morning he treats it as a contest with himself. Will tells Alex Perry what he means by it's me versus me: trying to be a better son, brother and uncle than he was yesterday, and not comparing his situation to anyone else's. He shares how a skin mark hidden under his long hair in 2022 led here, what the cancer has taken from his career and social life, and why he says he wouldn't trade what it has given him.
About Our Featured Charity:
This season, Alex Perry On Fire is making a monetary contribution to each guest’s charity of choice. Will’s charities are Wounded Warrior Project and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Wounded Warrior Project honors and empowers post-9/11 veterans and service members who were wounded, ill or injured, along with their families, and its programs are free to those it serves. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, works to advance cures and prevention for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases, and families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food.
