Today we meet with Diane Heiler, author of "A Widow's Fire," discussing her experiences with grief, remarriage, and the phenomenon of "widow's fire" - the intense physical and emotional craving for intimacy and touch after losing a spouse. Diane shares how her husband Al's dying words about her needing to find another man proved prophetic as she experienced strong desires for physical touch and connection after his death at age 80. She describes her new relationship with Bob, who accepted her continued love for Al, and discussed how she handled judgment from others about moving on too quickly. The conversation takes an unexpected emotional turn when Diane reveals she experienced three visits from what she believes were Al's deceased wife's spirit and his own spirit, which moved one of us to tears (I bet you can't guess which one). And don’t forget to hang around for our “After Thoughts” where Lori and Constance unpack the episode and chat about our thoughts on what we heard, and where we have started “Listener Shout-Outs,” and episode-based Challenges for our listeners.
