Every golfer has experienced it. You hit the ball brilliantly on the range, your swing feels comfortable and everything seems to be working. Then you walk onto the golf course and suddenly it feels completely different. The swing hasn't necessarily disappeared. The environment around the swing has changed. In this episode, we explore why your golf swing can feel so different in practice compared with what you experience on the golf course, and why being able to hit good shots on the range doesn't guarantee that you'll be able to reproduce them when you play.We look at how consequences, pressure, targets, different lies, changing conditions and having only one attempt at each shot can alter your intentions, attention, emotions and ultimately the movement your body produces. We also discuss the way golfers practise. Hitting multiple balls from the same position with the same club gives you opportunities to adjust and repeat that simply don't exist on the golf course. You can become very good at performing within that practice environment without necessarily becoming better at solving the problems golf actually presents. The aim is to make practice better at preparing you for performance, while also understanding why you shouldn't expect your swing to feel exactly the same in every environment. If you've ever walked off the range thinking you've finally found your golf swing, only to lose that feeling on the first tee, this episode should help explain what's actually happening.Find Your Match-Up:macrogolfonline.co.uk/auditWork with Macro Golf:macrogolfonline.co.uk/coachingFollow Macro Golf:Instagram: @macrogolf_Joe: @joe_macrogolfSam: @sam_macrogolfJack: @jack_macrogolfJames: @james_macrogolf#GolfPractice #GolfSwing #GolfImprovement #GolfPerformance #MacroGolf
