Welcome to The B Code! Over the past several episodes, we’ve explored what it means to live as a Bold, Independent, Tenacious, Confident, and Honest woman. But today, we’re talking about something so many women have experienced but may not always want to admit: ignoring red flags.
In this episode, I explore why we often see the red flags, feel them in our bodies, and still find ways to explain them away. We tell ourselves they’re just stressed, we’re overreacting, nobody’s perfect, or that they’re such a good person. But a good person can still be the wrong person for you. I also dive into why we fall in love with potential instead of patterns, confuse empathy with excusing behavior, mistake chemistry for compatibility, and continue moving our boundaries every time someone crosses them. Most importantly, I share how I learned that my intuition wasn’t betraying me—I was betraying my intuition. This episode is an invitation to stop negotiating with what you already know and start trusting yourself enough to recognize what the red flags are actually showing you.
In this episode, you will learn:
- Why We Ignore Red Flags: How fear of what the truth might require us to do can make it easier to explain away behaviors we already know don't feel right.
- Why Potential Isn't a Pattern: How focusing on who someone could become can keep you from seeing who they consistently choose to be.
- The Difference Between Empathy and Excusing Behavior: Why understanding someone's wounds or circumstances doesn't mean you have to accept behavior that hurts you.
- Chemistry vs. Compatibility: Why attraction and excitement aren't the same as alignment, consistency, and emotional safety.
- How to Trust Your Intuition Again: Why your body may recognize what your mind is still trying to rationalize, and how listening to yourself can rebuild self-trust.
- Flip the Switch When You See a Red Flag: How to replace “Maybe I’m overreacting” with “My feelings are giving me information,” and choose yourself instead of continuing to abandon yourself.
