It's grey, it's ugly, we don't know which is worse! We might just roll our eyes--and if we don't, we'll laugh at first! For anyone who caught that reference, you would benefit from looking into the works of "Screamin' Jay Hawkins." Meanwhile, we can't even be bothered to look up at our city skylines for what they are, given how litle effort the designers seemed to put in them. WHY must they look like bad Lego sets? WHY has history directed our buildings in this direction? Are the communists involved, are they?
No, of course not. But they did coin a little term known as American Exceptionalism, which essentially means, you look as good as you feel. If you feel great, your buildings will match that. But if you're a good fifty pounds overweight with a bald spot, a mole on your eyebrow, and you have money (and love to make more of it!) then you may neglect your health. We are what we eat just as we are what we see.
