You’ve confessed your sin and asked God for forgiveness. So why does the memory still return and why do you keep punishing yourself?
In John 21, Jesus shares breakfast with Peter, the disciple who denied Him. Beside a charcoal fire, Peter discovers that failure does not have to be the end of his story. Jesus restores him and gives him responsibility: “Feed My sheep.”
In this episode of Walking with Conviction in an Anxious Age, Pastor Chris Miller explores guilt, shame, repentance, and the difference between conviction and condemnation. Conviction calls us toward Jesus. Condemnation tells us to hide. And recurring feelings of guilt do not overturn God’s promise of forgiveness.
What are you carrying? Is there sin to confess, something to make right, or a burden that was never yours to bear? How do you receive forgiveness when your feelings are still catching up?
Correction is not rejection. Because of Christ’s finished work, you can take the next step toward Him.
Scripture: John 21:1–19; Romans 8:1; 1 John 1:9.
