Why did God curse creation? Was the curse in Genesis 3 an angry punishment for one mistake, or is there more happening in the story?
In Episode 17, we explore how Adam and Eve’s rebellion affects the blessings God gave humanity in the beginning. Fruitfulness becomes filled with grief. Relationships become struggles for control. Work meets resistance. And the humans formed from dust eventually return to it.
But God’s judgment is not the end of the story.
Tracing the biblical story from Genesis 3 through Jesus’ resurrection, Romans 8, and Revelation 22, we explore how God responds to human rebellion and how His rescue reaches the creation He made.
In this episode: • What blessing and curse mean in the Bible • Why Genesis 3:16 describes more than the pain of childbirth • How rebellion fractures marriage and humanity’s relationship with the ground • Why God blocks access to the Tree of Life • How Jesus’ ministry and resurrection reveal the coming restoration • What it means to live in Christian hope while creation still groans
The Bible does not ask us to pretend the world hurts less than it does. It gives us reason to believe that the curse will not last forever.
For now, we groan. But because Jesus has risen, we groan in hope.
