What if the universe isn’t morally neutral, and our deep sense of right and wrong points to something built into creation itself? In this episode of Faith and Science, host Kaysie Voklurka explores chapter 13 of The Big Argument: Does God Exist?, where God is portrayed as both lawgiver and judge. It’s a thoughtful look at evidence for God through the universal human longing for justice, a conversation in Christian apologetics that challenges the idea that truth is whatever we vote it to be, and a clear picture of a biblical worldview with a moral center.

Dr. John Ashton takes on the postmodern claim that truth is relative to the individual, along with the evolutionary assumption that the universe is morally neutral. Drawing on chapter 13, he examines our shared sense that some acts are plainly evil, the Bible’s portrait of a judge with complete knowledge and no bias, and well-known cases of flawed or fraudulent evidence used to support evolution. His conclusion is that the moral law written within us points to a Creator who made humanity in His image and will one day judge with perfect fairness.

In this episode, you will hear:
• Why almost everyone recognizes atrocities like the Holocaust and the Pol Pot regime as wrong, and where that moral sense comes from
• How Piltdown Man and Haeckel’s drawings show what happens when truth is treated as a matter of consensus
• Why scientists writing in Scientific American on the evidence for inflation theory argued that truth isn’t found by “counting noses,” and why there is still no known chemical explanation for how non-living matter becomes life
• How a judge with complete knowledge and zero bias offers hope for victims of injustice who never saw accountability
