What happens when people no longer know what, or who, to trust?

In Part 2 of The Weight of the Call, Robb Brown and Pastor Bill Puckett continue their conversation about the challenges facing pastors and the Church today. From the lasting effects of COVID and an increasingly distracted culture to social media, AI, spiritual authority, church commitment, and the responsibility pastors carry for the people God has entrusted to them, the conversation turns toward an unexpected reality: people are hungry for something real.

In a world where truth can feel increasingly difficult to recognize, the Church has an opportunity to point people toward something that has not changed; Jesus Christ and the truth of His Word.

Pastor Bill also shares what a healthy relationship between a pastor and congregation should look like, why trust must be earned and stewarded, why simply showing up matters, and what he would tell someone who feels called to ministry today.

Robb also shares how his own journey through Purpose Institute is helping him better understand the responsibility that comes with ministry; not simply learning doctrine, but learning how to carry truth, people, and calling well.

This episode brings the conversation back to a challenge for every believer: The Church cannot merely talk about being the Church. We have to become disciples who pray, grow, show up, reach people, and allow God to use us.

Because understanding the weight should lead us to ask a bigger question:

What is my role in this, and where do we go from here?

Most people see a pastor for an hour or two each week. They hear the sermon, shake a hand, and head home. But what they don't see are the prayers, burdens, spiritual battles, difficult decisions, and responsibility that come with caring for souls.

In Episode 05a, The Weight of the Call: What Pastors Carry That People Never See, Robb and Pastor Bill have an honest conversation about the realities of pastoral ministry. From the changing landscape of ministry over the last decade to the unseen pressures that spiritual leaders carry, this episode pulls back the curtain on what happens beyond the pulpit.

Whether you're a pastor, ministry leader, church member, or someone trying to better understand the role of spiritual leadership, this conversation offers insight into the weight, responsibility, and privilege of answering God's call.

  • Ep. 04 | How Should Christians Navigate Politics?
    2026/01/11

    Send us Fan Mail

How should Christians navigate politics without losing their faith, peace, or love for others?

In Episode 4, How Christians Navigate Politics, Robb and Pastor Bill discuss why political division has become one of the enemy’s greatest deceptions and how believers can live in a politically charged world without being consumed by it.

Rather than telling Christians how to vote, this episode focuses on allegiance, unity, and eternal perspective—exploring Jesus’ words, “My kingdom is not of this world,” and why prayer and the Word are the only way to separate the signal from the noise.

This conversation is not partisan, but it is convicting—calling the Church back to love, holiness, and a Kingdom-first mindset.
