There was a time when I was constantly doing something with friends. Whether it was going out, hanging out at somebody's house, or just getting together for no particular reason, there was always something going on. These days, things look a lot different.
In this episode of Unfinished, I talk about how friendships change as we get older, how getting sober and becoming a father have changed my social life, and what it's like feeling like I'm always the one reaching out to make plans.
It's not that I don't have friends anymore. Sometimes I just wish somebody would think to reach out to me first.
We talk about the difference between having friends and feeling included, the effort it takes to maintain relationships, and figuring out what friendship looks like in this stage of life.
Because sometimes it's not about needing somebody to hang out with. It's just about wanting to know somebody thought about you.
