Part 3: Responsibility and What Can Change
Understanding where a behavior came from does not make the behavior harmless. Part 3 takes on the uncomfortable side of this conversation: how a history of being harmed can quietly become a license to harm, what responsibility a person has now for a pattern they didn't choose, and why "it was a trauma response" is sometimes also just a habit you'd rather keep. Then the realistic path forward: awareness, learning your specific triggers, tolerating discomfort long enough to learn it passes, repair after you get it wrong, and professional help when it's warranted. Recovery doesn't mean erasing the part of you that learned to survive. It means learning when that protection is still needed, and when it's finally safe to respond differently. Final part of the series.
