Hello beautiful and welcome to another episode of When it all goes to Well…I’m Suzanne Kimberly. This podcast is a place to connect on all things wellness in the post pandemic world.  There has never been a time such as this where we have ever needed to focus on our wellness more. Wellness is a lifestyle not just about the size of your jeans.Today we’re going 80’s free style and the topic is Isa Isa Baby…lol can you hear Vanilla Ice now…alright so what the heck am I talking about?  Well as part of my overall company “When it all goes to well”, I have a couple of different avenues outside of the podcast that make up my brand.  So today I’m going to talk about the product line that I represent, called Isagenix which is a direct sales company. Ok so yes I had the same feeling as you when my mentor suggested adding this to my business, I was like I’m no pyrimad, recruit your friends and family take you to my leader hustler, I have 25 years in marketing and public relations so oh that’s not for me yet here I am so how did I get here?As I told you my wellness is a journey and for me it has a couple of different areas.  So if you stick with me I will tell you more about me and why I chose to add this to my business.  As I have mentioned I had covid and when I went into the hospital with covid I was at my heaviest, 220 pounds, yes I have said that outloud for the world to hear.I was 50 years old.  Now in my younger years I had it going on, perfect size 6 with a tiny waist and oh those were the days in my 20’s and early 30’s.  I digress, I do that often.  Anyhow as I was battling for my life in that hospital bed and felt so out of shape, faced with my own mortality and realizing I don’t have all of the time in the world to change my ways.  I said I need to get serious about my health.  The good Lord blessed me with more time here on earth and I needed to take full advantage of every moment. So when I got out I began to eat healthier but I still wasn’t there so the Good Lord was like ok Suzanne you need a reminder so he hit me where it hurt, my hair began to fall out, clumps in the shower, on my clothes, on my floor and it was thin, you could see my scalp and let me just tell you I have always known short hair and bald were not my thang, I needed long lox of blond to flatter my face and it had the alarm bells going off, this was November 2021. By the day it was getting worse and worse and that Friday night I had plans to go out to dinner with my three friends from college.I texted them and said I wasn’t going to make it because except for necessity I wasn’t leaving the house, I looked awful! My dear friend Jen was like we will wear scarves around our heads and sunglasses and they will think we are part of the Hocus Pocus 2 cast filming in the town in Rhode Island where we were meeting. I weakly said sure but knew the next day I was going to go and get me some hair.So the next day I ended up at this beauty supply store that had wigs and extensions and I was like ok how hard can this be, well pretty dam hard until the hair angel who worked at the store came up to me and was like can I help you?  I looked down at my feet and showed her my thinning hair and with her sweet kind eyes looked up at me and with her big voice, said girlfriend we black girls have been doing this for decades its about time you white girls caught up…we spent the next hour talking, laughing and getting the perfect hair piece that I could manage, she even styled it to my more traditional, classic look and woah I looked amazing.  Walking into that store was that most humiliating feats I had to endure, yup my hair meant that much to me.  I mean I knew cancer patients lost their hair and I couldn’t imagine but then in speaking to my hair angel, think the movie Grease when they sing with Frenchie about being the beauty school drop out, lol, hair loss for women went so much further than cancer patients and covid, pregnancy, age…it all had it falling out.So when I got back in my car and loved my new piece and how AMAZING I looked I swore I was going to help other women with hair loss. And my new purpose began.  But it didn’t begin or end there. So at first I thought I’m going to design an elegant hair studio where people can come in and solve their hair loss problems, but then I’m not a hair stylist, I can barely do my own and I have no idea how to apply extensions and would have to hire someone and then what would I do?So that idea sat for the winter. This is when the path is not necessarily clear but you trust the universe to show you the way. In March I realized a wig was not going to be the way to go coming into the summer months so I found a hair stylist who did extensions. It was a way to have fuller hair while my hair continued to grow, it was pricier than my $47 wig and my $25 wig but it would stay put and my wigs did have a habit to shift or fall off so I wanted something a little ...

  • Do you hear what I hear?

Do you hear what I hear?Hello beautiful and welcome to another episode, well episode 4 to be exact (eeekkkk) of When it all goes to Well…I’m Suzanne Kimberly. This podcast is a place to connect on all things wellness in the post pandemic world.  There has never been a time such as this where we have ever needed to focus on our wellness more. Wellness is a lifestyle not just about the size of your jeans. Ok so the topic of this week’s episode is “Do you hear what I hear?”, come on you know you sang the Christmas song when you heard that, well today we are going to talk about listening to that voice in your head or the universe or when God is speaking to you and trusting it to move you. The weekend before Thanksgiving, my son Mark, he’s the 15 year old was attending his camp’s teen ambassador outing and need $25 for the day’s event.  I stopped at the ATM and usually I just grab the exact amount I need because no need to take it out if you don’t need it. But while I was there something in me said take out $40 instead so I did, not sure why but I listened. Dropped him off at his event and then headed over to the grocery store. As I was catching frost bite looking through the frozen turkeys to find the biggest one possible, nothing less than 20 pounds will do, I only have 9 people coming, only 8 of them eat said turkey but I LOVE the leftovers, you can’t get turkey like that any other time of the year, it’s so good and if you haven’t been on the website skinnytaste, I highly suggest you do, because they have a turkey cobb recipe and a sweet potato pot pie recipe that need to get in my belly. Ok so I’m a foodie but I’ll return to my point…Two women were next to me discussing what size turkeys they were going to get and they wanted them substantial but not as substantial as mine to donate to their local church’s turkey drive. They looked over at me and said wow you must have a lot of people coming and I said nope just love the left-overs.  All of the sudden I heard in my head, you are so blessed Suzanne ask them if you give them that $20 if they would buy an additional turkey and donate it, so I did just that.  The women were so excited and we talked about God putting us in other’s paths to make an impact. I firmly believe I was meant to be there. But how often do we, myself included, not listen to what he has to say? As we have been talking about our vibrations and raising them, it also opens you up the possibilities of opportunities.  It puts you in situations that connects you to the higher power and abundance.  But it also puts you on the path you are meant to be on, these little quote un quote voices in your head are meant to guide and inspire you to action. I mean chatting and giving over the money for the turkey I felt all warm and happy inside…So let’s explore that voice in your head and when you have ignored it and what you should do when you hear it. That voice has a lot of different terms, some say it’s your gut, others talk about your angel and devil battling it out for your actions or for me I now say it’s God’s way of guiding me on my path.  Now when I woke up in the morning I didn’t have any intention of donating a turkey yet there I was at the grocery store handing over my money like it was always on my to do list.  Now that was an easy listen and action, grab money from atm, hand over money to the kind woman donating turkeys, not everything is so easy when we hear it. For me the most in tuned time I have to the conversations between God and myself happen in the shower. Yup I am a long hot shower girl, sit on the floor of the shower and let the warm water rain down on me and just breathe, it’s seriously one of my favorite parts of the day and ideas come to me. Since I was in the PR firm and when I had a client and needed a new pitch, my mental health check point idea came straight from the shower and into our pitch meeting and onto the US Surgeon General agenda.  I have clear ideas and insights during my 12 minute shower, yes I set a timer or I’d spend a half hour in there.  Hey it’s my meditation and somedays I’m singing a song that is stuck in my head and I realize it has a message. Even this podcast and it’s topics are all about what message I’m supposed to be relaying to reach certain individuals.  Some of this will resonate with you and some not so much.  So how do you get yourself to listen to what is going on inside of your head, I mean sometimes do we even hear it and can we identify what is being sent to us?A few months back, my friend Kate who is a medium and will be on the show in a few weeks, she’s AMAZING btw, told me she was going to look at new office space and I asked if I could go along.  I had wanted office space as I was operating my business out of the tiny out-cove in my bedroom and when the boys are home I essential get about 10 minutes of work accomplished but my budget well I wasn’t where ...
