  • What If School Looked More Like the Real World?
    2026/08/25

What if education was less about memorizing information and more about experiencing it?

On this episode of What in East Dallas Is Going On?!, Camille and Rich sit down with Museum School of East Dallas founder and superintendent Loren Colman to talk about a very different approach to K through 8 education coming to Far East Dallas.

The Museum School model takes learning beyond the traditional classroom by connecting students with real places, real people, cultural institutions, hands on experiences, and real world purpose. The goal is not simply for students to know the material. It is for them to understand it, experience it, and become curious enough to keep learning.

Loren shares why she believes education has to evolve as our world evolves, why different learners need different approaches, and why a child's zip code should never determine the quality of education available to them.

This is a conversation about more than opening a school. It is about rethinking what school can be and preparing kids not just for the next grade, but for the world they are actually going to live in.
