What is matter in contrast to mind? What is mind in contrast to matter? And how are each threaded into the totality of ‘what is’?
Though we have spent much time trying to unravel these questions, all we seem to have found is a dense tapestry of process and relation. And yet one revealing insight has presented itself: we were always led by the shaping of our own questions. We sought limits, grounding and shape - but none were to be found. Thus, the question was wrong from the outset … for mind and matter were never things to hold, but rather, unique classes of a single unbound relational continuum.
Only in one exception has any quality of distinct finitude continued to hold its dominion. This being the self’s own private frame. A selfhood not bound by the nature of things, limit or shape, but rather by a currency of finite, relative meaning. Where relation and participation are merely two sides of the same coin.
And so we reframe our line of enquiry and now ask … how does this self, this finite perspective, become relationally meaningful amid such an unbound infinite continuum?
So join me as I attempt to unpick the infinities of ‘what is’.
