The Holy Bible teaches what sin and sinful are in the eyes of the living God of Heaven. The true definition of sin is lawlessness, wrongdoing, idolatry (worshipping other gods), falsehood, and rebellion against the living God of Heaven and His holy commands, which leads to slavery to darkness, depression, disease, and eventually death. Satan and his evil workers of sin operate in the dominion of darkness, crimes, confusion, disorder, and lawlessness because Satan is a criminal, thief, liar, deceiver, and murderer. Everyone who follows Satan’s dark and evil way of life has no peace or rest because the Holy Bible promises that there is no rest, peace, or stability for the wicked evildoer. Following Satan’s sinful, selfish, and criminal living alienates and separates us from the living God of Heaven and His abundant goodness and blessings. Moreover, living a life of disobedience, sinfulness, and rebellion against the living God of Heaven and His demands for holiness and purity leads to suffering, sickness, and despair. Examples of sin and sinfulness are found throughout the Holy Scriptures, including the Israelites’ rebellion and unfaithfulness toward the living God of Heaven, which led to their forty (40) years of wilderness wandering and eventually their deaths. Sin crouches at the door of everyone’s hearts, but the living God of Heaven calls everyone to turn away from and reject Satan’s sinful living, crimes, and wrongdoing. The living God of Heaven (Adonai) originally defined what is sinful (also known as vices) in the Old Testament at Mount Sinai by giving the eternal covenant, which included the Ten Commandments and then the Holiness Code given in the book of Leviticus. These moral teachings of the living God of Heaven, given at Mount Sinai, are good and foundational to both Old Testament and New Testament teaching on godly and holy living with wisdom because they encourage everyone to shun Satan's evil living and obey the living God of Heaven. The Holy Bible’s teachings on sin and sinful living that lead to separation from the living God and death originated in the Old Testament at Mount Sinai, continued to be taught by Joshua and then the holy prophets and servants of God in the Old Testament, and continue today. From the Old Testament into the New Testament, the Holy Bible teaches that the living God of Heaven condemns and punishes such dark and selfish deeds of idolatry, rebellion against one’s parents, stealing property and land, hurting the blind, perverting justice, mistreating aliens (foreigners), hurting orphans and widows, adultery and other sexual sins, murder, bribery, corruption, dishonesty (lies), and attacking others. A listing of sins (vices) noted in the New Testament that harm, hurt, and defile our minds, souls, and bodies that separates us from living God and His gracious blessings are found at Matthew 15:18-20; Mark 7:21-22; Romans 1:28-32; Romans 13:13; 1 Corinthians 5:10-11; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; 2 Corinthians 12:20-21; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 4:31; Ephesians 5:3-5; Colossians 3:5, 8; 1 Timothy 1:8-10; 2 Timothy 3:2-5; 1 Peter 4:3-4; Revelation 21:7-8; Revelation 22:15. REPENT and leave ALL Satan’s sin and darkness!
