We walk through a terrifying off-lead dog attack and the shock of being dismissed by the owner and doubted online. We turn that fear into a clear lesson on boundaries, safety, and finding your voice when life tries to silence you.

• a calm walk through a field turning into a sudden dog attack from behind
• freezing in fear then using a loud, clear voice to demand safety
• the owner’s excuses and lack of accountability after the attack
• reporting the incident to build a record and protect others locally
• social media victim blaming and the pressure to minimise lived trauma
• exploring spiritual meaning as integration not justification
• black dog symbolism, disruption and shadow work themes
• red bag and root chakra safety, survival and reclaiming security
• choosing not to stay a victim and speaking truth anyway

Take action, move forward, and have the most fabulous day.

The Longest Hallway | Season 4

This season explores the space between knowing your life must change and becoming the person who is ready to walk through the next door.

The Longest Hallway is about the part we rarely talk about: the space between who you were and who you are becoming. The roles we have outgrown. The stories we still carry. The things we know intellectually but have not yet fully released.

The Longest Hallway by Jan Mayfield will be published on 1 November 2026.
