Gloria Steinem spent her life challenging the rules about who women were supposed to be and fighting for our freedom to choose differently.
Following her death at 92, I wanted to reflect on five lessons from her extraordinary life and work: that there is no single right way to be a woman, that our voices matter, that getting older doesn’t make us less relevant, that choosing ourselves isn’t the same as only caring about ourselves, and that we don’t need to have our whole lives figured out before we start living them.
I also recommend Gloria’s memoir, My Life on the Road, and share a quick update about the podcast taking a September break before returning in the second week of October.
A short tribute to a woman who helped generations of women believe that their lives, and their choices, could truly belong to them.
