What becomes visible when artists ask us to slow down and look more closely?
Fiona McIntosh transforms microscopic and cellular forms into intricate wool sculptures, using as many as 24 million needle stabs across an exhibition. She discusses the meditative labour behind her work, moving needle felting beyond kitsch and finding inspiration within the David Roche Collection.
Then choreographer Alix Kuijpers and performers Fern Mines and Caroline De Wan explore the quiet queer intimacies at the heart of i know the end. They discuss bringing private forms of love into public view, returning to the work after three years and building an immersive world through movement, sound and scent.
