  • He Came Dressed for the Occasion
    2026/09/15

Apparently, Cam Bonger has been waiting since the beginning of What Are the Pickles For? for his invitation to be a guest. Well, his time has finally come.

Kayla’s husband joins us to tell his side of the story—from how he and Kayla met to what life looks like these days, plus the story behind Bonger Contracting, his business specializing in home inspection repairs and those projects that need to get done before (or after!) closing.

We talk marriage, work, real estate, and plenty of things we didn’t plan to talk about.

And for reasons we still don’t completely understand, Cam also showed up dressed like a cowboy.

Honestly, it feels right that we made him wait this long. 🥒

  • Miles, Mountains, and Mildly Bad Ideas
    2026/09/08

Cody joins us this week, and naturally, we end up talking about all the mildly questionable decisions that have somehow turned into some of our best memories. We’re covering what it was like growing up together, what life looks like now that Cody has a family and two kids, and the ridiculous amount of adventuring we’ve done along the way.

Think camper van trips out West, more hikes than we can count, Machu Picchu, bungee jumping in Australia, scuba diving, mountains, travel chaos, and a whole lot of “this seemed like a good idea at the time.”

Turns out, sibling bonding looks a lot like miles, mountains, and mildly bad ideas.

  • A Safe Place to Tell Your Story
    2026/09/01

This week, we’re sitting down with Kristine Cordts, Executive Director of Holly’s House, to talk about an organization doing incredibly important work right here in our community.

Kristine shares what Holly’s House is, who they serve, and how they provide a safe, supportive place for children and adults to share their stories after experiencing abuse or violence. We also talk about the heart behind the organization, the impact this work has on families, and why having a resource like Holly’s House in our community matters so much.

It’s a conversation about difficult things—but also about hope, healing, and the people who step in to help when someone needs it most.

  • Pap Has Entered the Chat
    2026/08/11

The one you've all been waiting for.....Jody is finally on the pod!

We're talking about everything from climbing the corporate ladder to skydiving. We get into what Jody was like while we were growing up, some of his best one-liners, the things that make him uniquely him and what life looks like now that he is retired... for the second time.

These days, you'll find him volunteering with CASA and the Evansville Christian Life Center, cheering on the Tennessee Vols, planning the next trip to the beach, or being Pap to the grandbabies he absolutely adores.

He's funny, he's one of our favorite people, and if you've ever been in a room with him, you probably already understand why this episode has been so highly requested.

Meet Jody. Or Dad. Or, as some very lucky little people call him, Pap. 💚

  • My Neck, My Back
    2026/07/07

This week, we're joined by Dr. Grant McCleary and Hannah McCleary from McCleary Chiropractic for a conversation that's equal parts educational and entertaining.

We dive into how they built their practice, what chiropractic care can (and can't) help with, common misconceptions, and why taking care of your body matters more than most people realize.

Of course, it wouldn't be What Are the Pickles For? without plenty of laughs, unexpected stories, and the kind of conversation that feels like hanging out with friends.

Whether you've been seeing a chiropractor for years or you've always been a little skeptical, this episode just might change the way you think about chiropractic care.
