In December 1970, Bruce was flying from the Bahamas to Florida when he encountered a rapidly forming storm in the Bermuda Triangle. He describes entering a tunnel-like opening in the clouds before his aircraft became surrounded by a strange gray-white haze.

His instruments malfunctioned, visibility became distorted, and the airplane appeared to travel approximately 100 miles in far less time than should have been possible.

Bruce later coined the term electronic fog to describe the anomaly. The experience changed the course of his life and led to more than five decades of research into weather, electromagnetism, vortex formations, and possible distortions of time and space.

To show what he witnessed more accurately, Bruce created a three-dimensional reconstruction of the flight, including the cloud tunnel, electronic fog, and apparent displacement.

In our conversation, Bruce also shares more of his personal story, including a childhood UFO sighting and an unexplained voice he heard after the flight. The voice told him to remember the events of that day because they would be important for the world to understand in the future.

Bruce has also documented a curious hexagonal opening in storm clouds witnessed with his granddaughter. Could geometric cloud formations be connected to vortex activity—or something science has yet to identify?

Speaking as both an experiencer and an engineer, he explains how he continually tested his own memories against verifiable facts, determined to understand what was happening rather than simply believe it.

Sometimes the greatest mystery isn’t what appears in the sky. It’s what quietly walks beside us for a lifetime.

Empower Radio began in 2007 as an idea scribbled on the back of a receipt after lunch: what if radio could be used to raise consciousness and connect with people in a deeper, more meaningful way?

Founder Brent Carey brought that idea to life in 2009, launching Empower Radio as an internet station in Northern Michigan. Live shows were later made available as “shows on-demand” before most listeners were familiar with the word podcast. Over time, Empower became one of the early national podcast networks offering subscription-based shows focused on personal growth, spirituality, health, wellness, and conscious living.

After 13 years as an online radio station and podcast network, Empower paused in 2022 and later evolved into The Empower Channel in 2024, expanding its mission through video on YouTube, Facebook, X, and Substack.

Now, in celebration of Empower’s 17th anniversary, Empower Radio is back for a limited time, streaming a curated mix of inspiring conversations from 2009 through today — including archive episodes from longtime hosts, plus new weekly episodes from Bonnie Wirth and Lisa Campion.

In Part 2 of my conversation with author Elly Flippen, we move into the more esoteric side of Ingo Swann’s work — including remote viewing the planets, UFOs and UAPs, non-human entities, and the complicated nature of contact experiences.

Ingo Swann is widely known as an artist, author, and remote viewing pioneer, but his explorations extended far beyond laboratory perception studies. His work touched the edges of anomalous contact, intelligence beyond the human frame, and encounters that were not always comfortable — or easily explained.

Elly shares that there is a downside to contact experience that has not been given enough attention. Not every encounter is benevolent. Not every presence is what it appears to be. And not every open door is easy to close.

In this two-part conversation, we talk with author Elly Flippen about You Know More Than You Think, her five-book experiential series exploring perceptual literacy — how awareness forms, stabilizes, differentiates, navigates, and eventually encounters the larger forces shaping reality.

Elly brings a unique personal perspective to this work. She grew up in close proximity to her uncle, artist and remote viewing pioneer Ingo Swann, where she was immersed in his creative work, perceptual research, and the wider community around it. So - even though she's seen a few UFOs - along with her Dad in one instance (he opted to avoid admiting it was a UFO), her interest has always been focused on the entities, not the hardware. Her assessment? Communicating with ETs requires advanced telepathic skills humans have yet to master.

She offers a few quick tips on how to improve your own telepathic abilities. And then how good you are - is up to you. One word: practice.
