Welcome to our new podcast Global Classroom!

How can fashion, textiles, craft and research foster global equity in the sense of social, racial and global justice? Who has access to the spaces of (institutional) knowledge exchange?

The “Global Classroom” is an experimental digital realm of decolonial encounter and democratic transformation through educational and design practices. Set up as a transnational cooperation between scholars of the University of Johannesburg, Johannesburg and the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna established in June 2024.


In this episode, Elke Gaugele, Khaya Mchunu, Kimberly Bediako and Tinyiko Balyoi dive into the universe of fashion, embedded knowledge, social justice and democracy.
