Five years ago, I thought I had one year to figure my entire life out.

I had just finished my second year of college, was graduating early, and felt like the clock was already running out.

I thought success had to happen before graduation.

I thought I needed to avoid the “normal” path.

I thought every decision had to move me closer to building the life I wanted.

A few months later, I quit my college track team.

At the time, it felt reckless.

Looking back, it was one of the most defining decisions I’ve ever made.

In this episode, I revisit that mindset and reflect on what five more years of building a business, making mistakes, creating freedom, and chasing meaningful work have taught me.

You’ll hear why:

• Quitting isn’t always giving up.

• Growth takes longer than you think.

• Building a business isn’t about going faster—it’s about staying in the game.

• Your twenties aren’t about having it all figured out.

• Freedom is built one decision at a time.

Today I’m preparing to spend the next few months living in Portugal, doing work I genuinely enjoy, helping good people connect with better opportunities, and building a life on my own terms.

Ironically…

That’s exactly what nineteen-year-old Jack wanted.

He just underestimated how long it would take.

If this episode resonates with you, I’d love to hear your biggest takeaway.
